Art DeFever designed a beautiful line of pilothouse yachts for American Marine in the late 1960s and early 1970. 159 were built in wood ranging in size from 45 to 55 feet. When American Marine (Grand Banks) switched to fiberglass construction in 1973 they dropped the Alaskan line. They did not realize that Art had designed the first "Raised Pilothouse" yacht and that this style would be copied by many designers. Today, the RPH style is a very popular design throughout the yachting world. T
